Ready to Get Started?
Capstone Orthotics and Prosthetics is dedicated to making the process of getting the right orthotic or prosthetic device as stress-free and efficient as possible. When you are referred by your physician for an orthosis or prosthesis or in need of a new device and do not know where to start, we are here to help. Check out our quick steps below for what to expect during this process!
Request a Virtual Consult
Consultation
If you are unsure of where to start, reach out to our office and request a virtual (preferred) or in-person consultation. During this process, Capstone will collect your insurance information, verify insurance coverage, review your medical history and device needs, and develop a plan of care.
Casting & Measurement
After your consultation, an in-depth evaluation will be scheduled in the office during which a casting or measurement will be performed. Insurance authorization will also be submitted if needed. If insurance authorization is required, fitting and delivery will be scheduled once authorization is received.
Fitting & Delivery
Fitting and delivery appointment times can vary from 30 minutes to an hour depending on your device. During this appointment, your device will be customized by adding additional padding or modifications as well as trimming the device to improve comfort or to fit inside a shoe. If you are a prosthetic patient, there might be 1-2 check socket fittings prior to your final prosthetic device delivery.
Follow Up
Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to ensure that your device is fitting and functioning appropriately to achieve your goals. Minor adjustments or changes may be made during these appointments to optimize your prosthetic or orthotic outcome.
